Dental Implants – Implantology Center
Dr. László Breier, master of implantology
I started implantation in 1992, and since then I have attended every course possible and have been striving the latest information and knowledge about dental implants. I am proud to be one of the first 15 dentists in Hungary who finished accomplished the famous Münster University (Germany) Implantology Master degree. For 8 years our clinic has been a residential study place for the Semmelweis University Dental members.
What are dental implants?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that our implantologyst places into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason. While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more of tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.
Dental implants are so natural-looking and feeling that you may forget you ever lost a tooth. You must know that your confidence about your teeth affects how you feel about yourself, both personally and professionally. Perhaps you hide your smile because of spaces from missing teeth. Maybe your dentures don't feel secure. Perhaps you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, there is good news! Dental implants are teeth that can look and feel just like your own! Under proper conditions, such as placement by our implantologyst and diligent patient maintenance, implants can last a lifetime. Long-term studies continue to show improving success rates for implants.
Our main implant system used is “Camlog”, and the reason behind it is that it is one of the newest implant systems and therefore the most modern as well with a large technical and knowledgeable background. Based on our long experience this is the implant system with less problems after being placed and the treatment time is much shorter as well. For more information on our implant system please click on the following link: www.camlog.com. Of course on request we are able to place pother brand of implants. Our dentists have attended to the following courses: Bauer, Denti, Unimplant, Branemark, Straumann, Ankylos, Zimmer Dental (Swiss Plus, and Tapered Screw-Vent).
Bone grafting – Sinus lift
One of the advantages of implantation is that after a tooth loss it prevents the massive bone loss. After 6 months of the tooth loss, the bone structure can recede up to 30-50%. Placing an implant requires a certain bone thickness. The upper jaw bone anatomically is building down quicker than the lower law; therefore in most cases it is needed to do a sinus lift before the implant can be placed in. To fill up your sinus we open a small window in it by cutting up your gum. We can fill up the sinus with your own bone which we get from the back part of your mouth (area behind the wisdom tooth), or we can fill it up with syntactical material which will absorb and replace it with bone. (This is a one year procedure). At our clinic we are using Swiss, German and USA bone graft materials like: Geistlich Bio-Oss, Bio Guide, Cerasorb, Tutodent.
